THE SYMPOSIUM
“WE ARE ONLY THE TRUSTEES OF THOSE WHO COME AFTER US.”
William Morris
"Climate Change: Science and Society" is a free online symposium designed to facilitate networking between researchers working across different disciplines with an interest in climate change. Organized by early career researchers from four universities, this two-day event will address three broad themes: impacts of climate change, mobilizing societal change and sustainable solutions. It will consist of panel discussions with invited speakers, short talks, as well as posters on these themes. There will also be the chance for participants to join breakout discussions on five key topics: cities, energy, transport, food and health.

We have invited a diverse board of experts from a wide range of disciplines to discuss the many challenges associated with anthropogenic climate change; including impacts, societal responses & responsibilities and sustainable solutions for our planet and its inhabitants.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
The symposium aims to bring together postgraduate researchers, early career researchers, and more established researchers to discuss the many challenges spanning a wide range of disciplines that are associated with global climate change. Participants will have the opportunity to present their work, receive feedback and participate in relevant discussions in an interdisciplinary, accessible and engaging environment. We particularly encourage participation by scholars who identify as a minority or represent groups often marginalized in debates about climate change.
